Join us May 25 and 26 for our VIBE: #FutureofHigherEd and learn about new ways of delivering education and reshaping the campus experience with digital technology.
This interactive event will cover a variety of ways to improve the education experience through collaboration and communication technology to create:
- Immersive environments that enhance learning
- Hubs for monitoring campus safety
- Equitable ways for remote and on-site learners to engage with course lessons
Another big reason to attend: You’ll hear success stories from AVI-SPL and our vendor partners about how we’re helping schools like yours develop a long-term vision for delivering value. Topics over the two days will include:
Keynote: State of Higher Education
Sean Wargo, senior director of market intelligence for AVIXA, will discuss priorities for higher education institutions. He’ll also share research that illuminates trends in the technology systems that are creating engaging experiences across the campus and to students no matter where they are learning.
Panel discussion: The Future State of the Higher Ed Experience
Jennifer Haskins, AVI-SPL senior vice president, will moderate this look at the educational experiences that attract, retain, and empower students. During this discussion, Haskins and her fellow panelists will address:
- How faculty are adjusting to our new reality with instructional design and supporting technology that engages students
- Using technology to extend the branded experience of the institution into the virtual realm so that remote students have the same experience
- Faculty pain points and bridging what they need with the technology that leads to an exceptional teaching and learning experience
Haskins will be joined by:
- Katalin Wargo, instructional design manager at the Studio for Teaching and Learning Innovation at William and Mary
- Sean Wargo, senior director of market intelligence for AVIXA
- Mike Pedersen, AV experience manager for Iowa State University
They will contribute their insights into instructional design and securing necessary funding for technology solutions.
The Campus as a City
Many campuses are “mini-cities”, in their own right. Certainly, education is the top priority…but think about how Unified Communications is literally everywhere on your campus. Today, we will introduce you to all of the ways you can collaborate with AVI-SPL throughout the campus. We’ll be joined by Crestron to cover solutions for:
- HyFlex learning, traditional sports and esports, advanced visualization, public safety, performing arts, facilities, libraries, and cafetoriums
John Bailey, SVP of technology and innovation for AVI-SPL, will lead this discussion. Bailey helps illuminate the concept of the campus as a city and why a centralized overview is essential to the quality of experience and planning for growth. He’ll be joined by Brandon Brunhammer, solutions architect for AVI-SPL, and John Hulen, director of channel marketing, education, Crestron.
Making Sense of U.S. Federal Funding for Education
Schools have access to more funding than ever before. Jennifer Haskins will explore how these funds can be applied to support equitable and flexible learning experiences using the latest collaboration and communication technology. And, she’ll discuss how these technology solutions can be bundled to quickly ramp up improved learning for on-site and remote learners. Haskins will be joined by Kevin Schornhorst, manager, learning environments design team, Georgia State University, Brian Retzlaff, CST solutions engineering for Legrand | AV, and Michelle Rydell, Pro AV Business Development with Epson.
